Symbiotic Cream: the story behind a formulation that was five years in the making
Written by Tea Crnjak
In preparation for the launch of Symbiotic Cream, I was revisiting old photos and videos taken late at night when my children were still young. It was then that I realized that this launch had been preceded by almost five years of development, trial, error, learning, and daily testing on my skin and the skin of my boys. It was this long-term commitment that shaped the formula that today bears the name Symbiotic Cream .
Personal story as the beginning of development
I have always had extremely dry skin, and periods of dermatitis and dyshidrosis have marked me. For years, I hid my hands - not out of shame, but to avoid questions. Dermatological recommendations often included topical corticosteroids, but after each treatment the condition worsened. It was only when I decided to change my approach and remove all irritants from my routine and turn to herbal macerates, balms and more natural cleansers that my skin began to return to balance.
When I noticed that my older son also had extremely dry skin , I started to research deeper and formulate various oils and body butters, and that's how we came up with the first cream that showed excellent results. My younger son is atopic , and since I already knew enough about atopic dermatitis and its causes, I simultaneously worked on strengthening his skin barrier and balancing his immunity. At that stage, the idea was born to also test the effect of immunomodulatory herbs on sensitive skin.
Symbiotic Cream grew simultaneously with my knowledge and my children. The results we saw were so convincing that there was no longer any doubt - this cream must become available to everyone.
What makes Symbiotic Cream special?
Symbiotic Cream is a gentle yet extremely rich cream for sensitive, dry and atopy-prone skin . It is formulated for adults and children and is also suitable for skin with rosacea, seborrhea, acne, psoriasis and all conditions in which the epidermal barrier is damaged and reactivity is increased.
This cream combines clinically proven active ingredients, plant extracts and specific molecules that strengthen the skin barrier, reduce sensitivity and reactivity, support the natural microbiota, regulate inflammation, deeply hydrate and soften the skin.
Symbiotic Cream contains two clinically confirmed active ingredients that target the main mechanisms of problematic skin. A dermopotent active agent for the care of problematic and sensitive skin that has multiple effects on the renewal and protection of skin prone to inflammation and microbiome imbalance. It stimulates the activation of vitamin D, which strengthens the epidermal barrier, reduces peeling and dryness, and stimulates the synthesis of keratin and epidermal lipids. It restores the lipid barrier of the skin by strengthening the synthesis of keratin 10 and epidermal lipids, which is crucial for atopic and reactive skin. It acts as a natural microbiota regulator and supports the physiological diversity of microorganisms, thus reducing the risk of irritation and dysbiosis.
Its role in the care of atopic and problematic skin is to stabilize the epidermal barrier and prevent transepidermal water loss (TEWL). It relieves itching and tightness associated with inflammation and dryness. This is why our Symbiotik cream is suitable for skin prone to atopic dermatitis, seborrhea, dandruff and reactive changes.
Another active ingredient is the Niosomal complex , which combines zinc-enriched yeast extract, mangosteen and magnolol/honokiol in niosomal lipid vesicles. This biotechnological synergy targets inflammation, irritation and dysfunction of the skin barrier - the three main causes of skin sensitivity and atopic reactions. Mangosteen and magnolol/honokiol reduce the expression of pro-inflammatory mediators and thereby alleviate the redness, itching and burning sensation that are typical for atopic dermatitis and reactive skin. Zinc-enriched yeast extract stimulates cell renewal and the synthesis of proteins and ceramides, which are crucial for the integrity of the skin, while the active substances penetrate to the deeper layers of the epidermis and reduce transepidermal water loss, thus restoring the skin's elasticity and protective function.
Key ingredients in Symbiotic Cream
As an herbalist who advocates a fusion of traditional teachings, science and biotechnology, it is very important to me that my products contain the best of both worlds. That's why this cream of ours is called Symbiotic - it is the result of a symbiosis of traditional knowledge and modern biotechnology that gives us access to specific molecules in nature.
- Broadleaf plantain ( Plantago major ) macerate is one of the most valued herbs for healing and caring for damaged skin in herbalism.
- Encapsulated synergy of zinc-enriched yeast extract, mangosteen fruit extract ( Garcinia mangostana ), polyphenol magnolol and honokiol from magnolia bark ( Magnolia officinalis ), which strengthens the skin barrier and reduces excessive skin reactivity to external stimuli, which is typical for sensitive skin, urticaria, eczema and rosacea.
- Polysaccharides from the snow fungus ( Tremella fuciformis ) , known as the beauty mushroom, create a hydrating film on the skin and increase moisture retention in the surface layers, improving elasticity and overall skin tone.
- The oil complex of evening primrose ( Oenothera biennis ), black cumin ( Nigella sativa ), olive ( Olea europaea ) and avocado ( Persea gratissia ) provides the skin with nutrients, renewal and anti-inflammatory support through the synergy of fatty acids and phytonutrients to reconstruct the skin's lipid layer, reduce transepidermal water loss and restore suppleness and softness.
- Sclareolide isolate from clary sage ( Salvia sclarea ) supports the protective barrier function, has anti-inflammatory effects, and soothes redness and irritation.

Practicality and safety - two sizes, one formulation for the whole family
Symbiotic cream has been dermatologically tested and is intended for adults and children with dry, sensitive and irritated skin, including skin prone to atopy. It is also suitable for skin that needs more intensive hydration and protection of the skin barrier. Formulation
The Symbiotic Cream formulation is adapted to all age groups, including particularly sensitive groups such as pregnant women, nursing mothers and babies.
The cream comes in airless packaging so that it does not come into contact with pimples with constant use. We definitely recommend that you wash your hands before applying the cream, as this is an important step in the care of sensitive and damaged skin. If there is more damage on the skin, we also recommend the use of spatulas for applying the cream if necessary, so that the irritated skin does not touch the fingers at all during application.
The cream comes in two milliliters and we recommend the large 150ml container as a family pack for home use, while the smaller 50ml container is ideal for carrying around in your bag. You can buy the cream here.
